Message from Superintendent Caleris: Wishing our Hurricane Nation a Wonderful Holiday Season!

Dear Hurricane Staff, Students, Parents, and Families,

As we approach the halfway point of the school year and the holiday season, I want to extend my warmest wishes to each of you. May this time be filled with joy, laughter, and meaningful moments with family and loved ones.

Reflecting on the past year, I am incredibly proud of all that we have accomplished together. We have seen positive academic results to start the year and continued growth throughout the semester, which is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students, staff, and families. As we look ahead to 2026, I am excited about the many great things we will achieve together.

As we begin the second half of the school year, I would also like to share updates on several important district initiatives. Our construction project is progressing well, with work on the main gymnasium nearing completion and final finishing touches underway.

This year will also mark the continuation of capital improvement projects in our academic areas of the high school, including the start of renovations in March to the Performing Arts Center and Music Wing, along with construction beginning on the Board Office Main Entrance. These improvements reflect our ongoing commitment to providing safe, modern, and engaging learning and work environments.

This January, the District will release a comprehensive update outlining the remaining renovation areas and associated timelines to keep our school community fully informed as work continues.

To celebrate the completion of the main gymnasium, we invite our school community to join us for the Main Gym Rededication Ceremony on Saturday, January 3, 2026. The evening will begin at 4:30 p.m. with our Varsity Girls Basketball game, followed by the rededication ceremony. The Varsity Boys Basketball game will immediately follow the ceremony at 6:00 p.m., providing a wonderful opportunity to celebrate both our updated facilities and our boys and girls student-athletes.

Wishing you a Joyful Holiday Season and a Happy New Year! I look forward to seeing everyone when classes resume on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Best Wishes,
