Brooklyn Celebrates Start of the 2026-27 School Year

The campus of the Brookyln City Schools was once again filled with Hurricane pride and excitement as the district welcomed students back for the first day of the 2026-2027 school year on Wednesday, August 26th. Teachers and staff greeted students with high-fives, smiles, and enthusiasm as they entered the buildings for a new year of learning and growth. All incoming students in grades 1-12 started their first full day of classes which included meeting their new teachers, learning classroom procedures, and getting to know their new classmates. Kindergarten and Preschool students began the first of a series of transition days to prepare them for Monday, August 31st, when all students at those specific grade levels will attend for the full duration of their scheduled school day. The Brooklyn City Schools would like to thank our families, teachers, and staff for a successful first day and wish our school community a fantastic 2026-2027 school year!
