Superintendent
Dear Brooklyn City Schools Community,
I am thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Janet Kubasak as the new Principal of our Brooklyn School K–7 Campus, effective at the beginning of the 2025–26 school year. Dr. Kubasak joins us with more than two decades of exemplary leadership in education, most recently serving as Director of Curriculum and Special Projects at Wellington Exempted Village Schools. Her strengths in data‑driven instruction, professional learning, and instructional leadership have driven district-wide gains in literacy and mathematics.
During her four-year tenure as Principal of Westwood Elementary, Dr. Kubasak championed student-centered learning, advanced formative instructional practices, and fostered strong family engagement. Her work extends beyond individual schools, as she continues to influence regional education reform through her contributions to State Support Team initiatives, implementation of the Ohio Improvement Process, and statewide educational planning efforts. An educator since 1999, she and her husband, Kevin, share a blended family of 8 children.
Please join us in giving Dr. Kubasak a warm welcome as she brings both heart and strategy to her leadership at Brooklyn School. We are excited about the future and the positive impact she will have on our students, families, teachers and staff.
Thank You, Mr. Bollin!
We also wish to extend our deepest appreciation to Mr. Johnny Bollin, who has served as Principal of the K–7 Campus for the past four years. Under his leadership, our school community has flourished—with stronger family partnerships, a supportive climate, and enriching academic and extracurricular programs.
Mr. Bollin’s integrity, kindness, and dedication have left a lasting legacy, and we are profoundly grateful for his exceptional contributions to Brooklyn City Schools. We wish him every success in his future endeavors and will always remember his impact on our students, staff, and families.
Thank you to everyone for your continued support as we WELCOME Dr. Kubasak and CELEBRATE Mr. Bollin’s service. We look forward to an exciting year ahead!
Sincerely,
Dr. Theodore Caleris
